NYT: Obama Wrong About People Being Able To Keep Existing Health Coverage. No, Really?

July 18, 2010 Leave a comment

Obama-Liar-LiarHey, Times.  The word is “LIED”.  Try using the correct words when talking about Obama.

Remember all those promises President Obama made assuring Americans that they’d be able to keep their current healthcare plans under reform legislation he was championing?

Well, the New York Times reported Sunday that could come at a huge additional cost to many that may be impractical.

Much more surprising is the Times pointed out that this wasn’t what Obama promised.

Although none of the following will shock those intelligent enough to see through the bait and switch as it was occurring, those in the media that aided and abetted this scam should be deeply ashamed:

As the Obama administration begins to enact the new national health care law, the country’s biggest insurers are promoting affordable plans with reduced premiums that require participants to use a narrower selection of doctors or hospitals.

The plans, being tested in places like San Diego, New York and Chicago, are likely to appeal especially to small businesses that already provide insurance to their employees, but are concerned about the ever-spiraling cost of coverage.

But large employers, as well, are starting to show some interest, and insurers and consultants expect that, over time, businesses of all sizes will gravitate toward these plans in an effort to cut costs.

The tradeoff, they say, is that more Americans will be asked to pay higher prices for the privilege of choosing or keeping their own doctors if they are outside the new networks. That could come as a surprise to many who remember the repeated assurances from President Obama and other officials that consumers would retain a variety of health-care choices.

Pre-Obamacare: It’s NOT An Unpopular Tax. Post-Obamacare: Now, It’s A Tax, Because We Don’t Have The Right To Force You To Buy Anything.

July 18, 2010 Leave a comment

ObamaCareSymbolIf it wasn’t destroying our nation and our economy, it would almost be comical.

The mandate that requires citizens to buy insurance is not defined under any power of the Constitution.  The federal government is not allowed to compel anyone to purchase products they want us to.

This left them in a quandary.  How to convince people they could have a power that is not theirs.  Well, as we saw, in the end, they ignored what the US wanted anyway an forced it, but before that, they did actually try to push the lie.

So, Dems started using a lame “Interstate Commerce” excuse.  It didn’t stand up to any examination, since Congress limited all interstate health insurance anyway (which was to set the stage for ObamaCare)  So, the only real excuse they could come up with was “it’s a tax”.

There are several problems with this new self-appointed power that Congress granted itself.  First, by this argument, any Congressman could push a bill requiring everyone in the US to purchase something from a company they own.  That is tyranny.  Secondly, nothing in the Constitution allows for forcing anyone to purchase something.

This resulted in additional problems for the Dems in the days leading up to ObamaCare.  First, at the time, Obama was still pushing his “no middle class taxes” lies.  Second, because the argument of tax was so weak, they would get reamed by every intelligent person out there.  Finally, no one wanted to hear “tax” when the economy was so weak.  The result:  “It’s not a tax.  We can do it because of ‘Interstate Commerce"’”

Well, now the courts are involved.  A lot of states called bullshit on the Dems arguments and reality is setting in.  The lies are starting to be exposed and they realize that the only chance they have to defend this in court is to say it’s a tax and hope the courts are stupid.

When Congress required most Americans to obtain health insurance or pay a penalty, Democrats denied that they were creating a new tax. But in court, the Obama administration and its allies now defend the requirement as an exercise of the government’s “power to lay and collect taxes.”

And that power, they say, is even more sweeping than the federal power to regulate interstate commerce.

Administration officials say the tax argument is a linchpin of their legal case in defense of the health care overhaul and its individual mandate, now being challenged in court by more than 20 states and several private organizations.

More Obama Lies Exposed. Federal Funding For Abortions Begin… As Obama Promised Would Never Happen

July 14, 2010 Leave a comment

Obama-Liar-LiarIf you are surprised by this, you are an idiot.  NOTHING Obama says is worth anything.

(CNSNews.com) – If you want proof that President Obama’s Executive Order on taxpayer-funded abortion was a sham, look no further than Pennsylvania, says House Republican Leader John Boehner (Ohio).
Boehner and other Republicans point to reports that the Health and Human Services Department is giving Pennsylvania $160 million to set up a new high-risk insurance pool that will cover any abortion that is legal in the state.
"The fact that the high-risk pool insurance program in Pennsylvania will use federal taxpayer dollars to fund abortions is unconscionable," Boehner said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Just last month at the White House, I asked President Obama to provide the American people with a progress report on the implementation of his Executive Order, which purports to ban taxpayer-funding of abortions. Unfortunately, the President provided no information, and the American people are still waiting for answers."
President Obama pledged that under his health care plan “no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place.”

Was Obama Elected By Voter Fraud? Some DEMS(?!) Think So, And Made A Documentary Proving It!

July 12, 2010 Leave a comment

Oh… The Dems really seem to be turning on him.

A group of lifelong Democrats recently produced a compelling documentary allleging rampant voter fraud by the Obama campaign during the 2008 election.
Doug Ross reported:

Referring to the controversial 2008 Democrat presidential primary, Carolyn Tackett asks, “Was Barack Obama selected rather than elected?.”

Fox & Friends had an explosive interview with Gigi Gaston, a writer/director who has made a documentary outlining the rampant voter fraud perpetrated by the Obama campaign during the 2008 primaries against Hillary Clinton. Gaston is a lifelong Democrat whose grandfather was a Democratic governor of Massachusetts…

Gaston is not some partisan hack but someone who cares deeply about the election process and democracy. Gaston presents compelling evidence in We Will Not Be Silenced that Barack Obama was selected by the DNC, not elected by the people.

Teaching A Liberal Version Of Religion Is Fine, But If You Believe, You Are Fired.

Is it just me or does this seem like a milestone.  A very bad, very scary milestone?

URBANA, Ill. — The University of Illinois has fired an adjunct professor who taught courses on Catholicism after a student accused the instructor of engaging in hate speech by saying he agrees with the church’s teaching that homosexual sex is immoral.

The professor, Ken Howell of Champaign, has taught at the university for nine years. He says his firing violates his academic freedom.

A professor at the university who is also president of the American Association of University Professors agrees. Cary Nelson says teachers are allowed to express their own beliefs.

University spokeswoman Robin Kaler declined comment because Howell’s firing is a personnel issue.

Moonbattery: Arrested for Getting Robbed by Illegal Aliens

Ok, wow.  I really have nothing to say, except this. Let EVERYONE know.  Do not let this die in that hole known as the MSM.

UPDATE:  Here is the contact info for the District Attorney over this case (h/t Michelle Malkin)

Contact the Jefferson County D.A. Scott Storey:

District Attorney
500 Jefferson County Parkway
Golden, CO 80401

Contact him. Let him know your ourtage

Given that our legal system has been completely deranged by moonbattery, see if you can guess how it responded to this case from Wheat Ridge, Colorado:

82-year-old Robert Wallace said in February that he looked out his window and saw two men hooking his flatbed trailer up to their pickup. He yelled at them to stop, but they sped away, stealing his trailer. He told police he fired two shots at the pickup.

Minutes later, police say 32-year-old Damacio Torres dropped 28-year-old Alvaro Cardona off at a hospital emergency room with a gunshot wound to the face.

Torres did not stay to talk with police, but they caught up with him later. According to court documents, he admitted he and Cardona stole the trailer.

Wallace did not want to talk on camera, but when we asked him if the two men threatened him he said, "They almost ran me over."

Now the crooks — both illegal aliens with arrest records, one of whom was under investigation for taking part in a major auto theft ring — are safely behind bars on their way to getting deported, right? Of course not:

The Jefferson County DA’s office said that neither Torres nor Cardona have been charged with anything at this point, even though Torres confessed to the crime. However, the homeowner, Wallace is facing twelve felony counts, including four counts of attempted first degree murder. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

MSM Completely Silent On NASA’s New Primary Role Of Appeasing Muslims

July 8, 2010 Leave a comment

muslim_nasaAs disgusting as the new role of NASA is, this is worse.  The idea that the entire MSM folded on this…

Readers who get their news from the the mainstream media are remarkably ill informed. Much of what they "know" isn’t true and much of what they don’t know is important. Take the case of what Byron York calls "the NASA (non) feeding frenzy."

You know the story. The guy whom President Obama has put in charge of NASA reports that he has been tasked by President Obama with missions having nothing to do with space exploration. Perhaps the foremost of these missions is to make the Muslim world feel good about itself.

York originally reported the comments made by NASA administrator Charles Bolden to Al Jazeera several days ago. Yesterday York ran a Nexis search to see whether the news had made it into the mainstream media. York’s search produced this (utterly predictable) result:

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program in the New York Times: 0.

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program in the Washington Post: 0.

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program on NBC Nightly News: 0.

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program on ABC World News: 0.

Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program on CBS Evening News: 0.

Dems New Plan For Growth: Tax All ATM Withdrawals And The Internet

July 8, 2010 Leave a comment

Well, of course.  What better way to make people keep banks healthy than to encourage them to stop using them?  What better way to grow the economy than to make it more expensive to make internet purchases?

Hey Dems.  Growing the economy and growing the government are mutually exclusive.  Just a hint.

You remember Lanny Davis, right? He’s the nice guy you sometimes get confused with Leon Panetta because they both worked for Clinton and their names both start with “L”.

But when Davis speaks and floats ideas, it is more than just your run of the mill Washington personality floating an idea. When Lanny Davis drops an op-ed, there tends to be more to it. So we should take note that he’s got Democrats signing onto a plan to tax your ATM withdrawals.

Why, you ask? Well, to pay down the deficit.

Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-Pa.) has introduced Davis’s dream legislation. It would charge a penny for every dollar of your money drawn from an ATM machine. That would then beg the question — why put your money in a bank if you are going to get taxed merely for the right to access your money.

But wait . . . it’s gets better. They’re back to wanting to tax the internet too.

Truth: The Greatest Enemy Of The Obama Administration. TSA Reverses New Censorship Rules… Only Because We Noticed Them

July 7, 2010 Leave a comment

censorshipSadly, the Obama Administration will do everything it can to remove the freedom of speech from those who disagree with them.  If we stop watching, if we stop reporting it, if we stop making sure his agenda is not revealed to all… we will eventually no longer be allowed to.

And I wish this were an exaggeration.  The military now needs permission to talk to the press.  Reporters are denied access to the oil cleanup.  Reports for the liberal MSM are told what to say.  All of these are documented on this site and others.

To Obama, the First Amendment applies to all… who agree with him.

Last week, TSA issued a memo to its employees that announced a new policy of filtering Internet access, and that among the sites to be blocked were those offering “controversial opinions.”  After CBS reported the memo, conservative bloggers and the ACLU found some rare common ground for protest.  Initially, TSA said that the memo didn’t refer to politics, but now the Washington Times reports that they’ve revised the policy anyway (via Weasel Zippers):

After an uproar from conservative bloggers and free-speech activists, the Transportation Security Administration late Tuesday rescinded a new policy that would have prevented employees from accessing websites with “controversial opinions” on TSA computers at work.

The ban on “controversial opinion” sites, issued late last week, was included as part of a more general TSA Internet-usage policy blocking employee access to gambling and chat sites, as well as sites that dealt with extreme violence or criminal activity.

But the policy itself became controversial as the Drudge Report and a number of conservative bloggers highlighted the possibility that the policy could be used to censor websites critical of the agency or of the Obama administration in general. The American Civil Liberties Union also questioned the language.

Doesn’t This Seem Low? Illegal Immigration Costs U.S. $113 Billion a Year, Study Finds

July 6, 2010 Leave a comment

Wonderful.  We lose over $100 billion per year because of these criminal invaders.

The cost of harboring illegal immigrants in the United States is a staggering $113 billion a year — an average of $1,117 for every “native-headed” household in America — according to a study conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

The study, a copy of which was provided to FoxNews.com, “is the first and most detailed look at the costs of illegal immigration ever done,” says Bob Dane, director of communications at FAIR, a conservative organization that seeks to end almost all immigration to the U.S.

FAIR’s opponents in the bitter immigration debate describe the organization as "extremist," though it is regularly called upon to testify before Congress.
