The law is simply an annoyance to be ignored when it goes against the Dems, but a human right if its in their favor.

Liberals in Ohio have quite a track snooping on private citizens. Democrat state officials abused their access and plundered through Joe the Plumber’s records. And now, the Ohio Democrat Party has been caught trying to illegally obtain info on concealed carry permit holders in the Buckeye State in order to bombard them with anti-gun propaganda.

Fortunately, one responsible Democrat blew the whistle and put the brakes on the privacy invasion – via Cleveland Plain Dealer, hat tip: reader Tyler:

The Ohio Democratic Party tried unsuccessfully this week to get information on all people licensed to carry concealed weapons in the Buckeye State.
The state party sent letters to Ohio’s 88 sheriffs requesting the names and addresses of permit holders and the dates the licenses were issued. Ohio has about 211,000 permit holders.

But neither the Democrats nor any other political party can get that information. The records are exempt from the public record laws. The only public access was given to journalists when then-Gov. Bob Taft signed the law in 2004.

Lorain County Sheriff Phil Stammitti, a Democrat, denied the request Friday.

“I must also advise you that the information you are requesting is NOT a public record and CANNOT be released,” Stammitti wrote in a letter to the party.

The Democrats intended to target people who support the Second Amendment — the constitutional right to bear arms — with campaign information, said party spokesman, Seth Bringman.

GE CEO Collapses During Biden Speech

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – GE CEO Jim Campbell was rushed to a doctor after he collapsed just before 11:30 a.m. Monday as Vice President Joe Biden was speaking.

Campbell, who was seated on a stool at the end of the stage, fell from a stool and off the stage as Biden was nearing the end of his remarks.

Biden paused and called for a doctor.

"Do we have a doctor here?" Biden asked. "Ladies and gentlemen, that’s a sad note to end this on. Do we have a doctor here?"

According to GE spokeswoman Kim Freeman, Campbell appears to be fine, but was taken to a medical clinic on site to be seen by a physician.

A senior Hamas figure said Friday that official and unofficial US sources have asked the Islamist group to refrain from making any statements regarding contacts with Washington, this following reports that a senior American official is due to arrive in an Arab country in the coming days to relay a telegram from the Obama Administration.

The Hamas figure told the London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper that the Americans fear discussing the talks publicly would "rouse the Jewish lobby and other pressure groups in the US and cause them to pressure the administration to suspend all talks with Hamas."

Robert Byrd, Longest-Serving U.S. Senator, Dies at 92

If you comment, please be respectful.  We all know the history of this man, but its not a time to attack him.  It’s a time to mourn the passing of a sitting Senator and respect his family.

Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia, the longest-serving senator in American history, died Monday at the age of 92, a spokesman for the family said.

Byrd, a Democrat who served in the U.S. Senate since 1959, had been plagued by health problems in recent years and was confined to a wheelchair. He had skipped several votes in Congress in the past months.

Jesse Jacobs, a family spokesman, said Byrd died peacefully at about 3 a.m. at Inova Hospital in Fairfax, Va.

He was the oldest member of the 111th Congress.

Why Does The Obama Administration Want To Cause The Deaths Of Children, unborn AND born?

This is, sadly, not a question I have an answer for.  I understand that liberals love killing unborn babies.  Abortion is a wonderful thing to these animals.  I get it.  But is it so important that they get to kill unborn babies that they will sacrifice born ones to do it?

Most people in the United States are against abortion and even more when it used as a form of birth control.  How many would be against helping newborns and their mothers eat?

We need to get these monsters out of office.  It would be nice to have an administration that follows the law and the will of the people.

Anne Halpine and Greg Pfundstein ask why the Obama administration wants to derail efforts by the G-8 to send aid to improve maternal and infant health in the poorest nations of the world.  The G-8 met this week to discuss a wide variety of topics, mainly focusing on economic growth but also foreign aid.  In their National Review column, Halpine and Pfundstein report that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wants that aid held hostage in order to push an abortion agenda:

On the agenda at the G8 summit in Canada is promoting maternal and infant health in the poorest parts of the globe.  The high rates of maternal and infant mortality in many countries are an impediment to democracy and social development, to say nothing of a human tragedy for these communities. Commitments of resources from the G8 countries to address these problems should be welcomed and commended. Why, then, is the Obama delegation threatening to derail these agreements? …

I know, some of you out there are screaming about it.  If you are, you are completely clueless about technology.

Bush stopped the .XXX TLD for a long time.  He was clueless too.  Why?

Right now, the only way to really tell if a site is a porn site or not is to go take a look.  Sure, there are some “clues” and some obvious words, but there are some that are not as obvious or are not porn sites.  SEX.com is not a porn site.  SEXY.com is.  For a long time, WHITEHOUSE.com was a porn site!

Currently, people have to use filtering software such as “NetNanny” or the like to filter out porn at home.  Well, guess what?  Filtering software is sometimes wrong too.  Recently, a major conservative blog was marked as “Adult Themed” by some idiot liberal.

So we had poor, incomplete filtering, but now we have a domain name that we know for a fact is a porn site!  Filter .XXX and you are 100% sure that you are blocking ONLY porn sites.  Get a link sent to you that goes to a .XXX site, you know what you are going to be seeing.

Will ALL porn sites use the .XXX domain?  Of course not, but you can be sure that you know the content of the ones that do.

Porn sites want you to know what they are.  They want the people who visit them to be people who want to view and purchase porn.  They wanted to put up the equivalent of a big “ADULT BOOK STORE” sign in front of their shop so everyone would know what’s inside.  Sadly, for years, clueless people have been demanding that they cover that up so you have to go inside the store to see what they sell.

Porn exists, people.  If you think that hiding it makes it go away, grow up.  Label it, make the content clear and you can avoid it.

(CNN) — It’s a big day for the porn industry.

On Friday, ICANN, the not-for-profit corporation that coordinates the internet’s naming system, voted to allow the application of the controversial ".xxx" top-level domain name for sites that display adult content.

The domain, which would need further approval before going live on the internet, would be applied to adult entertainment sites just as ".com" is now.

Great White Shark Attacked By Something EVEN BIGGER!

Ok.  When something looks at a 10 foot great white shark as a snack, I think it’s time to stay the hell out of the water.  That picture is just WRONG!

A ‘monster’ great white shark measuring up to 20 ft long is on the prowl off a popular Queensland beach, according to officials.

Swimmers were warned to stay out of the water off Stradbroke Island after the shark mauled another smaller great white which had been hooked on a baited drum line.

The 10-foot great white was almost bitten in half.

The fictional shark at the centre of the Steven Spielberg blockbuster Jaws was estimated to be just five feet longer.

 

‘It certainly opened up my eyes. I mean the shark that was caught is a substantial shark in itself,’ says Jeff Krause of Queensland Fisheries.

Judge Blocks Obama’s Attempt To Destroy Jobs… I Mean His Offshore Drilling Moratorium

Poor Obama.  He must hate it when the law and common sense stop him in his attempts to ruin the nation.

Don’t worry, they announced an immediate appeal.  Obama is quoted as saying “Who does this judge think he is?  I AM THE ONE!  I will do my best to ignore this ruling and ruin as many jobs as possible.  FORE!”.  Ok, I lied about that last part.  Well, probably didn’t lie about the golfing bit…

It’s nice to see that the Judiciary (at least this one member of the Judiciary) is not completely beholden to The One and his progressive schemes, and actually understands the rule of law over thuggery.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) – A federal judge in New Orleans has blocked a six-month moratorium on new deepwater drilling projects that was imposed in response to the massive Gulf oil spill.

Several companies that ferry people and supplies and provide other services to offshore drilling rigs had asked U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman in New Orleans to overturn the moratorium.

President Barack Obama’s administration has halted the approval of any new permits for deepwater drilling and suspended drilling at 33 exploratory wells in the Gulf.

Feldman says in his ruling that the Interior Department failed to provide adequate reasoning for the moratorium. He says it seems to assume that because one rig failed, all companies and rigs doing deepwater drilling pose an imminent danger.

Dutch Police Go After Jewish Attackers With “Decoy Jews”

While I am glad that they are doing something about it, instead of ignoring or supporting the problem, what kind of world do we live in where animals like these people exist so that we even need “decoy Jews”.

Lodewijk Asscher, Amsterdam’s mayor, has ordered the new decoy strategy to cut the number of verbal and physical attacks on Jews, amid fears that anti-Semitic "hate crime" is on the rise.

"Jews in at least six Amsterdam neighborhoods often cannot cross the street wearing a skullcap without being insulted, spat at or even attacked," according to local reports.

Secret television recordings by the Jewish broadcasting company, Joodse Omroep, broadcast at the weekend, have shocked Amsterdam, a city which prides itself on liberalism and which is home to the Anne Frank museum.

According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. shed 2.3 million jobs since February 2009, Obama’s first full month in office. Going back to World War II, that is by far the worst record for any president in his first 17 months, outpacing the job destruction experienced in the early Bush years by more than 800,000 jobs…

For Obama, there is an even worse way to play the data, which might just become fodder for a political ad: From November 2008, the month he was elected, until now, the economy has shed an astonishing 4.4 million jobs. That’s worse than Hoover.
