Climategate Scientist Admits Climate Change A Hoax.

February 14, 2010 Leave a comment

About time one of them had the guts to come forward and admit the truth.

Top Climate Scientist Admits Man-made Global Warming Is a Farce–

* Data for vital ‘hockey stick graph’ has gone missing

* There has been no global warming since 1995

* Warming periods have happened before – but NOT due to man-made changes

Finally, one of the chief scientists at the center of the “Climategate” scandal admitted this weekend that there has been no significant global warming in the last 15 years.

The Daily Mail Online reported:

The academic at the centre of the ‘Climategate’ affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble ‘keeping track’ of the information.

Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers.

Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.

The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.

Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.

The admissions will be seized on by sceptics as fresh evidence that there are serious flaws at the heart of the science of climate change and the orthodoxy that recent rises in temperature are largely man-made.

Of Course. The Success In Iraq Is Because Of Obama Now.

February 10, 2010 Leave a comment

In 2007 both Barack Obama and Joe Biden continually spoke out against the Bush troop surge in Iraq.

From the video: Speaking at Camp Lejeune on February 27, 2009, Barack Obama talked about the success of our efforts in Iraq which he and the Democratic Party tried to undermine on a daily basis.

But that was 2007. Today, Vice President Joe Biden was on with Larry King. During the conversation Vice President Biden, a cut-and-runner, said that Iraq was one of the great accomplishments of the Obama Administration.

BIDEN: Well, you’ve heard me say that for the last 10 years. I think it’s the — it’s a big country. It has nuclear weapons that are able to be deployed. It has a real significant minority of radicalized population. It is — it is not a completely functional democracy in the sense we think about it. And so it’s — it — that’s my greatest concern.

I am very optimistic about — about Iraq. I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration.

RIP: “Deadliest Catch” Captain, Phil Harris Dies

February 10, 2010 Leave a comment

450philharriscatchcon_001  This is sad.  This is a very good show and Capt. Harris has been fighting severe health issues.  When it looked like he was getting over it, he passes.

I never saw anyone live like him, on a diet of Red Bull, cigarettes, and danger at sea.  I feel for his family and as a fan of the show, he will be missed.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A spokesman for The Discovery Channel says the captain of the "Deadliest Catch" fishing vessel Cornelia Marie has died.

Capt. Phil Harris suffered what his family described as a massive stroke on Jan. 29 while the boat was in port at St. Paul Island, Alaska. The 53-year-old fisherman was flown to Anchorage for surgery.

A Discovery spokesman says the Harris family contacted the network Tuesday evening with word of his death.

Discovery Channel spokeswoman Elizabeth Hillman issued a statement on behalf of sons Jake and Josh Harris. It says in part, "It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad – Captain Phil Harris. Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end."

In the network’s own statement, Hillman says, "We will miss his straightforward honesty, wicked sense of humor and enormous heart."

Why Is It That Only Right Wing Or Pro-Life Groups Are “Accidentally” Investigated?

February 10, 2010 Leave a comment

This is not an “accident” or a “mistake”.  As far as they are concerned, the only “mistake” was that they got caught doing it.

————————————–

Last year, there was a firestorm over Janet Napolitano’s right wing terrorist list. This list included war veterans and pro-lifers. Once the list was leaked, conservatives were understandably outraged, and the Obama administration tried to cover it up immediately.

However, it looks like there might have been some truth to that list. A pro-life group in Wisconsin was recently investigated by police and the government for literally no reason at all.

The Department of Homeland Security admitted today that it improperly conducted a threat assessment on pro-life and pro-abortion groups in Wisconsin. The assessment came before an expected rally last year in response to the University of Wisconsin Hospital board decided to allow abortions.

In February 2009, pro-life advocates planned to protest the hospital’s decision to open up a new Madison Surgery Center doing abortions.

The Associated Press reported today that the department said in a memo that it “destroyed all of the copies of the assessment after an internal review found it violated intelligence gathering guidelines about ‘protest groups which posed no threat to homeland security.’”

Interesting Thought Experiment… Am I Brainwashed?

February 10, 2010 2 comments

Last week, I was having a discussion with a friend of mine concerning a news story that we had seen.  Think about this:

A doctor walks into a hospital.  He heads to the maternity ward, where newborns are placed.  As he passed each child, he pulls out a scalpel and kills each one.  Infant after infant is killed remorselessly with surgical precision.

Along comes a person, who hearing what was going on, grabs a broom handle, runs into the room and hits him, killing the doctor instantly, but stopping his killing spree.

Is the person who stopped this a hero?  I would say so, even though, technically, killing the doc is illegal too.

Now, replace it with an abortion doctor.  The scenario is strikingly similar.  Defenseless victims.  Surgically killed by a doctor.  Especially when it’s a late term that would be viable outside the womb.  The child is just a few inches from being pulled completely out of the womb and being a newborn.  They are not considered a newborn by a simple technicality.

Scott Roeder ran into that clinic and killed Doctor Tiller, stopping his killing.

Here’s the thing.  I am not sure how you are thinking right now, but the first thing my mind did was say, “well they are very different.  You can’t defend Scott’s actions”.  Yet as I look at them, they are not.

I still can’t wrap my head around defending Scott Roeder in any way, but how is it so completely different?  Why to they equate as completely different to me, morally?

I am not what I consider Pro-Life or Pro-Choice.  I think that Roe vs. Wade needs to be overturned because its just bad “law”.  Let the states decide on it.

As I thought about this, I realized that my moral compass has been subverted.  Why can I, in my mind, praise the person who stopped the killer in one instance, but condemn them in the other?  How does the term “abortion” manage to make it ok?

If the law said it was ok to kill any child who was under the age of 1 year old who the mother didn’t want, no one would accept it.

Why is this different?  More importantly, why do I see them as different?

Since the day I realized what Obama really was…  Long before he was elected.

Rep. John Murtha dead at 77.

February 8, 2010 Leave a comment

Normally, I express my sorrow at any elected official’s death, loss, or illness.  I find my reaction to Murtha as a person so negative, that I feel I would be paying lip service by saying anything.

So, Rep. John Murtha, dead at 77.

Harrisburg, Pa. (AP) – Rep. John Murtha, the tall, gruff-mannered former Marine who became the de facto voice of veterans on Capitol Hill and later an outspoken and influential critic of the Iraq War, died Monday. He was 77.
The Pennsylvania Democrat had been suffering complications from gallbladder surgery. He died at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va., spokesman Matthew Mazonkey said.
In 1974 Murtha, then an officer in the Marine Reserves, became the first Vietnam War combat veteran elected to Congress.

The IRS Is Purchasing Shotguns. So?

February 4, 2010 Leave a comment

A lot of people are making a big deal out of this.  And there are some valid questions here:

  1. Why a shotgun?  Why not a pistol or a rifle?
  2. Why a shotgun with a 14 inch barrel.  Normal citizens can’t even purchase one with a barrel that short.
  3. What the hell does the IRS need to be armed for?  They file suits, not invade.

Now for my “stop being paranoid” list:

  1. They ordered sixty(60).  Assuming that the IRS is about to turn into a para-military organization, it will take them quite a while to get to my house if they only have 60 of these things.  It’s not like they ordered arms for thousands of shock troops.
  2. They are being added to the arms they already have.  If they aren’t attacking with what they have, 60 more ain’t gonna cut it.
  3. Can’t you think of where they might need these?  How about the guy behind the counter at the IRS building?  And with the absolute reaming that Obama is about to give everyone on taxes, it might not hurt to be better armed.

Calm down people.

Pay up or else.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to purchase sixty Remington Model 870 Police RAMAC #24587 12 gauge pump-action shotguns for the Criminal Investigation Division.

Collecting taxes must be a pretty dangerous job these days.

50% Of US Federal Spending On National Defense, Social Security, And Medicare

February 4, 2010 Leave a comment

Does anyone else find this disturbing?  I am fine with National Defense using up a huge amount of the budget.  Why?  Because its one of the few things the Federal government is actually SUPPOSED to do.  The others are liberal babies that are a drain on us.

Medicare just shows how well the US can run Health Care.  It’s a disaster.

Social Security went from a savings plan for retirement to an underfunded fiasco.

National Defense is actually what the US should do.

Budget documents provided by the Obama administration show that in Fiscal Year 2009 50% of all federal spending went to national defense, Social Security and Medicare. When the cost of veterans affairs are included, that number grows to 53%. Five percent (5%) paid interest on the federal debt, and 42% was used for everything else in the budget.

Man Who Attacks Pope as “Hurting People in the Name of Jesus” Gets Appointed to Oversee Faith-Based Initiatives – Erick’s blog – RedState

Oh come on.  This is just ridiculous.  How many loons and radicals will this jackass put in charge of the things they should be kept far away from:

Homosexual, pro-pedophile, pro-prostitution = Safe School Czar
Anti-capitalist, communist = Manufacturing Czar
Pope-hating, anti-Catholic = Faith Based Initiatives Czar

and the list goes on…

This is really disturbing.

Barack Obama has appointed Harry Knox to the White House’s Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

In March, Knox began an attack on the Catholic Church during a speech before the gay rights group Human Rights Campaign.

Knox, attacking Pope Benedict XVI directly, said the Pope and, through him the Catholic Church, is “hurting people in the name of Jesus.”

After his appointment, Knox was confronted with his comment and reaffirmed that he hates the Pope.

The Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships’ charter states that it “will work on behalf of Americans committed to improving their communities, no matter their religious or political beliefs.” Really?

A man who is willing, even with such an appointment, to attack the head of a church with millions of active congregants , cannot be trusted to fairly work with Catholics. The Pope is called the Holy Father for a reason and attacking the Holy Father does little to prove a commitment to improving communities no matter their religious or political beliefs.

The St. Michael Society has a petition calling for this man to resign. I’m Presbyterian, but I signed it too.

This man is an insult to the Christian faith when the basis for his attack on the Catholic Church is its position on homosexuality — a position shared across denominations of Christians.
