Hey, Obama. How Is That Shoving ObamaCare Down Our Throats Working For Ya? Presidential Approval At –21. Lowest Ever.

February 27, 2010 1 comment

ObamaCareSymbolNotice that Obama bombs with the public every time he touches health care.

I wonder if the few MSM that said Obama rocked in the summit will have an explanation for this one…

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 22% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-three percent (43%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -21. That matches the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for President Obama.

The only other time the Approval Index was this low came in late December as the U.S. Senate prepared to approve its version of health care reform (see trends). Most voters continue to oppose the proposed health care plan.

global warming is a hoaxFor something that the “science is settled”, Global Warming sure seems to have a lot of scientists who disagree.

The British Parliament has begun an investigation into the meaning of the East Anglia CRU e-mails, and part of that process is a form of peer review, in a sense.  Their Science and Technology committee has welcomed commentary from the scientific community, and among those members is the non-profit charity, the Institute of PhysicsIn their submission, the IoP says that the UEA CRU e-mails don’t just indict East Anglia, but the entire AGW industry — and that “science” wasn’t what they were doing at all (via Watts Up With That and Mike Ross, emphases mine):

What are the implications of the disclosures for the integrity of scientific research?

1. The Institute is concerned that, unless the disclosed e-mails are proved to be forgeries or adaptations, worrying implications arise for the integrity of scientific research in this field and for the credibility of the scientific method as practised in this context.

2. The CRU e-mails as published on the internet provide prima facie evidence of determined and co-ordinated refusals to comply with honourable scientific traditions and freedom of information law. The principle that scientists should be willing to expose their ideas and results to independent testing and replication by others, which requires the open exchange of data, procedures and materials, is vital. The lack of compliance has been confirmed by the findings of the Information Commissioner. This extends well beyond the CRU itself – most of the e-mails were exchanged with researchers in a number of other international institutions who are also involved in the formulation of the IPCC’s conclusions on climate change.

Global Warming Hoax Update: Even Reuters Admits The Warming Isn’t Happening.

February 26, 2010 Leave a comment

polar bear facepalmWow.  What’s next?  I half expect Obama to start blaming the Global Warming “scare” on Bush soon.

Time to spread a little jelly on the global warming hoax. If even the establishment libs at Roto-Reuters admit that it hasn’t been getting any warmer despite the supposed ongoing crisis, you know the whole swindle is toast.

Climate scientists must do more to work out how exceptionally cold winters or a dip in world temperatures fit their theories of global warming, if they are to persuade an increasingly sceptical public.

At stake is public belief that greenhouse gas emissions are warming the planet, and political momentum to act as governments struggle to agree a climate treaty which could direct trillions of dollars into renewable energy, away from fossil fuels.

Public conviction of global warming’s risks may have been undermined by an error [i.e., an outrageous lie] in a U.N. panel report exaggerating the pace of melt of Himalayan glaciers and by the disclosure of hacked emails revealing scientists sniping at sceptics, who leapt on these as evidence of data fixing.

Most of the article consists of vague doubletalk, apparently meant to leave us with the impression that global warming has just been lying low for awhile, the better to pounce on us when we least expect it. But once they admit that 1) there is no consensus that global warming is real, regardless of what Al Gore might bellow; and 2) it hasn’t been getting any warmer, it’s time for moonbats to invent a new crisis.

NBC Chastised by Congressional Black Caucus Members for Lack of Diversity. Hold On A Sec. Laughing Too Hard To Type.

CBC_Olbermann_Chastised This is PRICELESS.

After listening to Keith Olbermann whine from his all white station that the Tea Parties don’t have diversity…

I wonder if he will show the Congressional Black Causus as the “Worst People” for racism because they disagree with him.

MSNBC hosts Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow and the egregiously stentorian and officious Keith Olbermann have made their warped interpretation of the conservative and TEA Party movements as racist a staple of their oft-ridiculed and rarely watched television programs.

These three (and other hosts at MSNBC) have engaged in this slander with regularity and fervor.

Reporting on an August 18, 2009 Arizona TEA Party, white host Contessa Brewer fretted "there are questions about whether this has racial overtones….(with) white people showing up with guns" (Arizona is an open-carry state). The only problem was, one of the men they showed packing was black, and they edited out of the video any show of his melanin so as to carry further their fraudulent narrative.

The Dallas (Texas) TEA Party created a video mocking Olbermann (and Company) for these serial assaults, showing people of color attending TEA Parties and contrasting it with the prevailing whiteness of MSNBC’s line-up. To which Olbermann responded with a list of black participants in the alleged news making of his network (and that of parent NBC).

Well Olbermann’s explanation, and all of the race-baiting "reporting" done by his vile network, apparently wasn’t nearly good enough for Congresswomen Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Texas) and Maxine Waters (D-California), two members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC).

Did Anyone Else See H1N1 As The Disease Based Version Of Global Warming Or Was It Just Me?

February 26, 2010 Leave a comment

I am really not surprised about it.  Basically, if the UN and a Dem President agree on something, its a fake crisis.

(CNSNews.com) – New Centers for Disease Control and Prevention statistics on the H1N1 flu strain show that fatalities and hospitalizations caused by the disease here in the United States over the past year never came close to the levels that the White House projected last summer could occur in the fall season of 2009 alone.
The CDC reported on Feb. 12 that an estimated 8,330 to 17,160 people have died from the virus in the U.S. since the H1N1 “swine flu” outbreak started in April 2009.  In August, the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) published a report estimating that H1N1 could  "cause between 30,000 and 90,000 deaths in the United States" in the fall of 2009.

Moonbattery: Killer Killer Whale Tied to Tea Party Movement

It was a sad event, but this is a slam at the liberals, not the poor trainer.

Yet, Media Matters is outraged.  Of course, they had noting to say about when they tried to blame the suicide pilot on the Tea Partys within minutes of the event.  Even though he was Communist and hated Bush.

Well, this was bound to happen.

Guess What Happened Unexpectedly… Again. That’s Right. Unemployment Claims Rose.

February 25, 2010 Leave a comment

fish memory Today on “Mythbusters”.  We already busted the myth that a goldfish can only remember for 3 seconds.  Now, we test a new myth.  Does an AP reporter have any memory at all?

Pattern recognition failure, part 3 4 10…  whatever.  How is it that something that occurs EVERY F***ING WEEK is a shock every time it happens?

I used to link to my pointing this out week after week, but why bother.  If you are interested, here is the link to the search page for “UNEXPECTEDLY

The AP gets to use its favorite adverb again, and this time it’s even more ridiculous when reading the spin on the latest unemployment news.  Initial jobless claims rose again last week, and as the AP explains, it probably comes in part with the massive snowstorm that blanketed the mid-Atlantic region.  But if that’s the case, then why would they describe it with the word “unexpectedly” (via HA reader DogSoldier and JWF) ?

The number of new claims for unemployment benefits jumped unexpectedly last week as heavy snows caused layoffs to rise.

In addition, many state agencies in the mid-Atlantic and New England regions that process the claims were closed due to the storms and are now clearing out backlogs, a Labor Department analyst said.

The department said Thursday that first-time claims for unemployment insurance rose by 22,000 to a seasonally adjusted 496,000. Wall Street analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected a drop to 455,000.

Bad weather can cause job losses in construction and other industries sensitive to weather.

That much is true.  Construction workers laid off from stalled projects can claim unemployment until the employer and/or customer is ready to resume.  Since that’s the case, one might have expected the number of jobless claims to increase, especially considering the severity of the storm and the inability of cities to clear the streets.  Washington DC had to shut down for most of a week because of the weather.

So why didn’t the geniuses that the media love to quote “expect” this?

One Gunman + One Math Teacher = A Hero

February 24, 2010 Leave a comment

That’s a math problem no one wants to see needed, but without a hero like David Benke, it could have been so much worse.

Good job, David.  Many people owe their lives to your bravery and quick action.

Littleton, Colo. (AP) – The gunman was walking through a middle school parking lot and taking shots at students with a hunting rifle as terrified teenagers ran for their lives. He had just wounded two students and seemed ready to unleash more violence when a math teacher named David Benke sprung into action.
Benke confronted the 32-year-old gunman, tackled him and pinned him to the ground with the help of another teacher, stopping what could have been a much more violent encounter in a city all too familiar with tragic school shootings. The shooting occurred less than three miles from where the Columbine High School massacre happened nearly 11 years ago.

WSJ: ObamaCare Includes “Largest Tax Increase For Health Care In History”

February 24, 2010 Leave a comment

ObamaCareSymbolOk, who didn’t expect this?  Anyone?  Anyone?  No?  (emphasis is mine)

Electing an outrageously unqualified community activist who has spent his entire life surrounded by communists would result in lower taxes for the vast majority of Americans, we were repeatedly and emphatically promised. But the hype that installed our socialist kakistocracy is over. Now come the tax hikes:

The White House’s new health-care proposal promises the "largest middle class tax cut for health care in history," which is a creative way of describing a vast taxpayer-subsidized insurance entitlement. Naturally, the fine print goes on to describe one of the largest tax increases for health care in history, too.

War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength. Tax hikes are tax cuts.

This new ObamaCare bargain would for the first time apply the 2.9% Medicare payroll tax to "interest, dividends, annuities, royalties and rents," so-called passive income that we are told includes capital gains, though the latter wasn’t explicitly mentioned in the proposal. This antigrowth investment tax would apply to singles earning more than $200,000 and joint filers over $250,000 and comes on top of the Senate’s 0.9-percentage-point increase in the payroll tax, which would bring the combined employee-employer share to 3.8%.

The rate hike on investment income would presumably take effect at the same time the 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts are due to expire next year, bringing the top rate to 22.9% as the current top capital gains rate would also rise to 20% from 15%. That’s a 52% jump

This will be sold in the name of "fairness," if anyone else in the press corps notices, but the worst implications are economic. The 0.9% increase is another tax on job creation, though Democrats claim they want more jobs. The devious 2.9% hike on investment income will raise the cost of capital, though Democrats claim to want more capital investment. Sometimes we wonder if Democrats even listen to their own rhetoric, or if they assume voters are too dumb to notice their contradictions.
