This is just disgusting. And it doesn’t look like it was just something that she missed. It looks like she took an active interest in protecting this animal.
Guy was a cop.
Seems that Coakley does as the machine asks her.
I can’t think of any other explanation except that someone made a big withdrawal from the Favor Bank.
Well, either that or outright bribery.
Can anyone else explain?
In October 2005, a Somerville police officer living in Melrose raped his 23-month-old niece with a hot object, most likely a curling iron.
Keith Winfield, then 31, told police he was alone with the toddler that day and made additional statements that would ultimately be used to convict him.
But in the aftermath of the crime, a Middlesex County grand jury overseen by Martha Coakley, then the district attorney, investigated without taking action.
It was only after the toddlers mother filed applications for criminal complaints that Coakley won grand jury indictments charging rape and assault and battery.
Even then, nearly 10 months after the crime, Coakleys office recommended that Winfield be released on personal recognizance, with no cash bail. He remained free until December 2007, when Coakleys successor as district attorney won a conviction and two life terms.
Coakley, now the Democratic candidate for US Senate, has made much of her record prosecuting crimes against children, and says her office handled this investigation appropriately. But the case stands out as one in which she drew criticism for not being aggressive enough. Indeed, the case gave rise to Coakleys last competitive election.

Well, isn’t this nice. Moonbattery asks a damn good question. What happens if gay marriage is legalized? You would have two major Democrat pillars (destruction of traditional families and gay marriage) butting heads here.
So much is so wrong with Capitol Hill’s two versions of government health care that it’s hard to focus on yet another poison pill in the bills. Hard, but important. It turns out that in addition to unconstitutional measures, unfair individual mandates, higher taxes, penalties for lifesaving medical devices and a potentially devastating rationing of care, Obamacare also contains several penalties on couples for getting married. Those penalties make government the enemy of both good romance and good finance.
The first sort of marriage penalties affects low- and middle-income couples who would get their insurance without employer assistance but with government subsidies. The penalties accrue through the "caps" on premiums. In the House plan, an unmarried couple living together with each earning $25,000 would pay no more than $3,076 in combined premiums each year. If the same couple got married, their annual cap would skyrocket to $5,160 – a 68 percent punishment just for saying "I do." (The penalty in the Senate bill is slightly lower, at 48 percent.)
What is even worse is that the subsidies are suddenly and completely cut off once somebody reaches 400 percent of the official poverty-level income ($63,360 in 2016). The arithmetic is complicated, but what it means is that two unmarried persons earning $32,000 each ($64,000 total) would pay a maximum combined $5,684 in premiums, but if they got married, they would pay about $15,000. That is an astonishing penalty of 164 percent. It is almost impossible to imagine a policy that could be any more anti-family than that.

HAHAHA. Too Funny.

They stage their health care town halls.
They hand out lab coats to make their doctor donors look authentic.
They treat soldiers as “pretty good photo ops.”
So, this Iron Chef revelation about Michelle Obama’s produce is entirely in keeping with Obama Theater:
For months, the Food Network ran ads about a forthcoming episode of “Iron Chef America,” its flagship chefs plus secret ingredient versus time competition. The show would take place at the White House garden, with Michelle Obama making a cameo and plugging her responsible-eating initiative. The network promised it would be its biggest episode ever.
The buildup matched the reality: The Jan. 3 “Iron Chef America” drew 7.6 million viewers, the highest-rated show in network history. In it, superstar chef Mario Batali teamed with Emeril Lagasse, and Bobby Flay with White House chef Cristeta Comerford to cook five dishes using the secret ingredient: produce from the White House garden.
Except for one thing: As first reported on AOL’s Politics Daily blog, the fruits and vegetables used on the show weren’t from the White House. They were stunt produce. Ringers.
At the beginning of the two-hour special, the chefs were shown picking sweet potatoes, broccoli, fennel and tomatillos from the White House garden. Then the chefs were seen walking into Kitchen Stadium, produce in hand. One problem: The show is filmed in New York City.

Someone explain to me how funding a climate hack is supposed to help the economy.
Well, now that I think about it, he does count as 1 job “saved or created”
A scientist in the middle of the ClimateGate scandal received economic stimulus funds last June.
As NewsBusters reported on November 28, Penn State University is investigating Professor Michael Mann, the creator of the discredited "Hockey Stick Graph," for his involvement in an international attempt to exaggerate and manipulate climate data in order to advance the myth of manmade global warming.
According to the conservative think tank the National Center for Public Policy Research, Mann received $541,184 in economic stimulus funds last June to conduct climate change research.

Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson and his wife were leaving dinner at a new pizza joint near their home in Omaha one night last week when a patron began complaining about Nelson’s decisive vote in favor of the Senate’s health care bill.
Other customers started booing. A woman yelled, “Get him the hell out of here!” And the Nelsons and their dining companions beat a hasty retreat.
“It was definitely a scene in there,” said Tom Lewis, a 41-year-old dentist and registered Republican who witnessed the incident. A second witness confirmed the incident to POLITICO.
It’s a new experience for Nelson.
He used to be a popular figure back home, a Democrat who served eight years in the governor’s office and was elected twice to the Senate by a state that’s as red as the “N” on football helmets.
But Nelson has seen his approval ratings tumble in the wake of his wavering over the historic health care bill, his deal cutting with other Senate Democrats and, ultimately, his support to break a GOP filibuster and send the bill to a House-Senate conference committee.

How this sort of person gets any votes is beyond me.
Martha Coakley, the dingbat running for the Senate from Massachusetts, doesn’t think there are any terrorists in Afghanistan. She’s soft on terrorism, but when it comes to the real threat against America — garden clubs who landscape traffic circles and off-ramps — she’s a regular pit-bull.
Attorney General Martha Coakley’s crackdown on Bay State gardening clubs for failing to file financial disclosure forms has left some green thumbs fearing arrest – and many sore at the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate.
Linda Jean Smith, president of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, has been besieged with calls from frightened, angry members after a prickly Jan. 4 letter from Coakley’s office declared many of them were breaking the law for failing to file their financial records for the past four years.
"One club president asked me if she was going to be led away in handcuffs," said Smith, adding that many members are in nursing homes or in Florida. "These ladies are confused."
Way to go Martha! Show those old ladies who’s the boss! Maybe you could send Michael Meehan over to rough them up a little.
And in case anyone is left who isn’t convinced that Coakley is a clueless dingbat, she’s now insulting Boston sports fans, belittling her opponent for shaking hands outside Fenway Park.

And more Democrat transparency. The Obama administration will do anything to prevent the truth from coming out.
The Democrat-controlled House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday rejected by a 15-14 vote a resolution of inquiry that would have forced the Justice Department to tell Congress why it dismissed a civil complaint against members of the New Black Panther Party who disrupted a Philadelphia polling place in the November 2008 election.
The party-line vote had been sought by Rep. Frank R. Wolf, Virginia Republican, who, along with Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas, ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, said they have been unable to get information from the department on the complaint’s dismissal.
"I am deeply disappointed that the Judiciary Committee defeated my resolution of inquiry on a party-line vote. There has been no oversight, no accountability and certainly no transparency with regard to this attorney general and this Department of Justice," Mr. Wolf said.
"Where is the ‘unprecedented transparency’ that this administration promised? Where is the honesty and openness that the majority party pledged? The American people deserve better," he said.

Somehow, I am sure this is still all Bush’s fault.
Although we didn’t see this reported in the state-run media… China View News reported today that the The U.S. federal budget deficit totaled 91.85 billion U.S. dollars in December. The deficit was slightly less than the 92 billion dollars that analysts had expected. But the red ink of the first three months of fiscal year 2010 beginning from October 2009 is 16.8 percent higher than the same period of the fiscal year 2009 when it hit a record 1.42 trillion dollars.
Considering these numbers it is likely that after tripling the US national deficit from the previous year in 2009, Barack Obama is on track to nearly quadruple the national deficit from 2008 when George W. Bush left office.

Block C-Span, secret meetings, exclude Republicans. So much for Obama’s lies of Transparency.
(CNSNews.com) – The White House, which has avoided answering questions on whether health care negotiations should be broadcast on C-SPAN, claimed the public would have “ample” time to review the legislation.
However, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs declined to say whether President Barack Obama would advocate posting the final negotiated bill on the Internet for 72 hours before a final vote by the House and Senate.
“I don’t know the exact answer to 72,” Gibbs told CNSNews.com on Wednesday.
“I know that there have … I think health care has been the most covered story by the news media in 2009.”
Republican lawmakers in the House and Senate have complained that the process has not been transparent enough and have tried unsuccessfully to force the health care legislation to be on the Internet for at least 72 hours.
CNSNews.com followed up with Gibbs by asking specifically whether the public should have a chance to review the precise language of the bill before the vote.
“I think you all have had – we have had plenty of discussion on health care,” Gibbs said. “What has gone through the process at this point is no surprise to anyone. This is not a process that’s going to happen in 20 minutes in terms of getting an agreement and voting on it. I’m sure people will have an opportunity to see what is in the legislation.”
Both the House and Senate passed versions of health care legislation that would mandate employers provide and individuals carry health insurance or face penalties. Further, both bills would establish an “exchange” to allow consumers to choose from several private plans approved by the federal government.
