- That the explosive underwear method was in use
One thing I haven’t seen is where the White House said “we gave all this information to the TSA and told them to be extra alert during this holiday season”

Well, now the Obama administration admit that the NIE report was BS, just like Bush’s administration said. What a shock!
An “oh, by the way” detail buried in a long Times piece about recent setbacks to Iran’s nuclear program. This isn’t really a secret — officials as high up as Panetta were mumbling about weaponization as far back as February and the U.S. intel community generally has been inching away from the document for months — but after all the leftist screeching about warmongering and politicized intelligence when the NIE came out and declared Iran’s weapons program dead since ‘03, it deserves a little extra attention.
Mr. Obama’s top advisers say they no longer believe the key finding of a much disputed National Intelligence Estimate about Iran, published a year before President George W. Bush left office, which said that Iranian scientists ended all work on designing a nuclear warhead in late 2003.

US Judge: State Dept. ‘Mealy-Mouthed’ in Suit against PA
(Israelnationalnews.com) A U.S. federal judge Tuesday castigated the Obama administration for being “particularly unhelpful” and the State Department for being “mealy mouthed” concerning a lawsuit filed against the Palestinian Authority for a terrorist attack.
The $250 million lawsuit was filed by relatives of Esh Kodesh Gilmore, a security guard who was murdered at the age of 25 in an attack by Tanzim terrorists, a branch of the PA, outside Israel government offices in eastern Jerusalem in 2000.
U.S. District Court Judge Gladys Kessler complained that government officials refused to offer opinions in the case, in which the judge has to decide whether to grant the PA a trial or issue a default judgment. The PA often has declined to defend itself in previous lawsuits for terrorist attacks.
"The Executive Branch of the United States has been particularly unhelpful in resolving this difficult Motion," Kessler wrote. "The Court requested that the State Department file a Statement of Interest in order to understand the international ramifications of any order it might enter, and to be apprised of our Government’s position about such ramifications. In this case, as in Knox v. The Palestinian Liberation Organization. … the State Department declined to do so. Instead it filed the identical mealy-mouthed Notice there as it did in this case. That Notice, for all practical purposes, said nothing.”

Obama was warned about the threats to the homeland in a Christmas briefing before he flew off to his golfing and snorkling Hawaii holiday vacation.
Newsweek reported:
President Barack Obama received a high-level briefing only three days before Christmas about possible holiday-period terrorist threats against the US, Newsweek has learned. The briefing was centered on a written report, produced by US intelligence agencies, entitled “Key Homeland Threats”, a senior US official said.
The senior Administration official, who asked for anonymity when discussing sensitive information, said that nowhere in this document was there any mention of Yemen, whose Al-Qaeda affiliate is now believed to have been behind the unsuccessful Christmas Day attempt by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to bring down a transatlantic airliner with a bomb hidden in his underpants. However, the official declined to disclose any other information about the substance of the briefing, including what kind of specific warnings, if any, the President was given about possibly holiday attacks and whether Yemen came up during oral discussions.
According to the senior official, the holiday threat briefing, one in a series of regularly-scheduled sessions with top counter-terrorism officials, was held in the White House Situation Room on December 22. Present were representatives of agencies involved in counter-terrorism policy and operations, including Attorney General Eric Holder, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and FBI Director Robert Mueller. The CIA and National Intelligence Directors Office were represented by deputy agency heads: CIA deputy director Steven Kappes, and David Gompert, the principal deputy to National Intelligence Czar Dennis Blair. Also present was Michael Leiter, director of the National Counter-terrorism Center, a unit of the Intelligence Czar’s office which was created after 9/11 to ensure that intelligence reporting about possible terrorist plots was shared quickly among all US agencies who might have some capability to do something about it.
It looks like he was too busy getting ready for his vacation to warn the American public.

Danish police late on Friday shot and wounded an axe-wielding man linked to radical Somali Islamists who tried to break into the home of a cartoonist whose depictions of Islam’s Prophet Mohammed infuriated Muslims.
The 28-year-old Somali national armed with an axe had terrorist intent and was close to the Somali Shebab movement and al-Qaeda, which was responsible for the 9/11 attacks in the United States, the internal security service PET said in a statement.
