Screw National Security. White House using base-closure process to extort Nelson’s vote on ObamaCare?

December 15, 2009 2 comments

This is disgusting.  The White House is willing to do damage to our national security so that he can save face and pass this abomination.

How desperate has the White House become to get anything passed under the name of health-care reform?  According to Michael Goldfarb’s source on Capitol Hill, the Obama administration has targeted the last remaining Democratic holdout, at least among moderates — and they’re willing to damage national security to extort his support.  The White House has threatened Ben Nelson (D-NE) with the closure of Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska if he opposes Reid’s latest version, despite its status as the headquarters of US Strategic Command:

According to a Senate aide, the White House is now threatening to put Nebraska’s Offutt Air Force Base on the BRAC list if Nelson doesn’t fall into line.

Offutt Air Force Base employs some 10,000 military and federal employees in Southeastern Nebraska. As our source put it, this is a “naked effort by Rahm Emanuel and the White House to extort Nelson’s vote.” They are “threatening to close a base vital to national security for what?” asked the Senate staffer.

Gore Refuses ClimateGate Questions, UN Official Disconnects Mic | NewsBusters.org

If the science of “global warming” is so completely settled, then why are these people utterly terrified of being asked any questions about it?

United Nations security officials have once again prevented a journalist from asking attendees at the climate change conference in Copenhagen questions about the growing ClimateGate scandal.

This time, the person on the receiving end of the apparently forbidden queries was Nobel Laureate Al Gore.

Much as when Ireland’s Phelim McAleer tried to ask Stanford professor Stephen Schneider questions Thursday about the controversial e-mail messages obtained from the British Climatic Research Unit last month, McAleer was similarly rebuffed by Gore and his entourage Monday.

Not only did the former Vice President completely refuse to answer questions about his blatant misrepresentations of the age of the most recent e-mail message obtained from Britain’s CRU, but a U.N. security official also disconnected McAleer’s microphone to make sure any answers would be unrecorded

NY Times: “Obama adminstration monitoring Facebook, Twitter and other social networking site for political protesters”

Monitoring political protesters?

Rather KGBish of him, wouldn’t you say?….

“The government is increasingly monitoring Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites for tax delinquents, copyright infringers and political protesters.”

So ominously began an editorial in Sunday’s New York Times.

Those with accounts at such Web sites should pay attention, for according to the Times, and other sources, Big Brother is watching you.

So be careful with your next Tweet or Facebook status, for you never know who’s watching.

CNSNews.com – Obama Likely to Sign $1.1 Trillion Omnibus with 5,224 Earmarks, Taxpayer-Funded Abortions, Needle Exchange, White House Says

Wonderful.

(CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama will likely sign the $1.1 trillion omnibus spending package passed by the Senate over the weekend containing more than 5,000 earmarks, a White House spokesman said Monday, stressing that the number of earmarks had dropped from the previous year’s spending bill.

Obama signed the 2009 omnibus bill last March. It contained 8,570 earmarks. He vowed then that the bill signing was simply wrapping up the previous year’s business – a “departure point” – and that things would change under his watch.

“We can’t have Congress bogged down at this critical juncture in our economic recovery,” Obama said in March. “But I also view this as a departure point for more far-reaching change. I am signing an imperfect omnibus bill because it’s necessary for the ongoing functions of government, and we have a lot more work to do.”

Even Without Public Option, CBO says ReidCare Would Force Some Middle Class Families to Pay $15,200 Yearly Insurance Fee

December 15, 2009 Leave a comment

As I said in an earlier post:  Just because the Public Option is gone, it does not make this a good bill.

(CNSNews.com) – Forget the public option. Even without it, the health care bill presented in the Senate by Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) would make some middle-class American families pay what amounts to a $15,200 annual federally-mandated insurance fee, according to facts revealed in analyses published by the Congressional Budget Office.

AoS: Climate “scientist” AlGore cites: Gore is makin that shit up

Let me just say: HAHAHAHA

The London Time reports:

…In his speech, Mr Gore told the conference: “These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”…

Dr. Maslowski responded:

“It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,”

Breaking: The Public Option and Medicare Buy-in is DEAD – Atlas Shrugs

December 14, 2009 Leave a comment

Yes, this is good news, but I have two concerns:

1.  This makes the rest of this ridiculous bill easier to pass

2.  What will replace it?  Will the GOP have the balls to fight all the rest of the crap in the bill?   Will they have the gumption to fight for tort, interstate insurance, etc?  My guess is no.

If this passes, without a complete gutting by the GOP, they won this war.  GOP, if you are reading this, the danger of this bill is in the loopholes…  find them.

Thank G-d. The American people have won a major battle in the war on the America.

Holder reveals plans to take guns away from anyone they feel like.

December 14, 2009 Leave a comment

You know, that Bill of Rights thing is just fluff, right?  It doesn’t mean anything.

PBO’s corrupt thug of an Attorney General is laying the groundwork for national gun registration — which is the necessary precursor to de facto and/or de jure outlawing the private ownership of firearms (as has happened in Britain, Austalia, New York City, Washington DC and elsewhere) — and wants the Justice Department to be able to deny anyone the Government designates as a potential terrorist the right to possess firearms.

According to the Law Enforcement Alliance of America:

(In the course of) US Senate testimony on Wednesday, November 18, Attorney General Eric Holder “revealed a stunningly broad and aggressive anti-gun agenda.

After explaining and defending his decision to give enemy combatants constitutional protections and the right to public trial in civilian courts in New York City, Attorney General Holder revealed his support for a national gun owner registration scheme and authorizing the government to ban firearm possession for any person by merely adding that person’s name to the terror watch list,

IOW, under his scheme, the Justice Department will be able to deny selected individuals the right to own firearms, based on whom they decide is a “terror threat.” We already know that this administration defines pro-lifers, anti-tax activists, supporters of immigration enforcement, and critics of Obama generally as potential terrorists.

The Desperate Democrats Fight Dirty on Health Care Bill | Right Wing News

December 14, 2009 2 comments

Maybe to round out the day, they will beat up his kids or something.

You know the healthcare fight is getting desperate on the left when they start going after the wife of the independent they see standing in their way. Oh boy.

Washington (CNN) – Sen. Joe Lieberman – whose opposition to a public insurance option has drawn outrage from liberal groups for months – is used to finding himself in progressive crosshairs.

Now it’s his wife’s turn.

Activists are setting their sights on Hadassah Lieberman, launching a celebrity-studded petition drive to convince the nation’s largest breast cancer non-profit to end the Connecticut senator’s wife role as a spokeswoman.

The move to pressure the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation came the same day Lieberman’s husband angered Democrats by announcing that he would not support an expansion of Medicare to cover individuals under the age of 55. Organizers did not point to that decision, instead citing Hadassah Lieberman’s own ties to the health care industry.

Wow.  This is hardball. Lieberman refuses to vote for the healthcare bill in it’s present form, and they go after his wife.

December 14, 2009 Leave a comment

More cover-ups and lies from the most transparent and ethical administration ever…

When Congress began investigating the termination of Inspector General Gerald Walpin, they demanded information from Alan Solomont, who chaired the Corporation for National and Community Service that Walpin oversaw, to determine what kind of influence the White House exerted in that process.  Walpin’s termination came after he objected to a settlement of fraud charges relating to an Obama ally, Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, and critics suspected political motivations behind the firing.  Solomont insisted that he had only discussed the situation with White House counsel Greg Craig, Norman Eisen (who did the firing), and three officials from the Office of Social Innovation.  But as Byron York reports today, newly released documents have forced Solomont to contradict himself on whether he consulted with the First Lady’s staff on Walpi
