Breaking: The Public Option and Medicare Buy-in is DEAD – Atlas Shrugs

December 14, 2009 Leave a comment

Yes, this is good news, but I have two concerns:

1.  This makes the rest of this ridiculous bill easier to pass

2.  What will replace it?  Will the GOP have the balls to fight all the rest of the crap in the bill?   Will they have the gumption to fight for tort, interstate insurance, etc?  My guess is no.

If this passes, without a complete gutting by the GOP, they won this war.  GOP, if you are reading this, the danger of this bill is in the loopholes…  find them.

Thank G-d. The American people have won a major battle in the war on the America.

Holder reveals plans to take guns away from anyone they feel like.

You know, that Bill of Rights thing is just fluff, right?  It doesn’t mean anything.

PBO’s corrupt thug of an Attorney General is laying the groundwork for national gun registration — which is the necessary precursor to de facto and/or de jure outlawing the private ownership of firearms (as has happened in Britain, Austalia, New York City, Washington DC and elsewhere) — and wants the Justice Department to be able to deny anyone the Government designates as a potential terrorist the right to possess firearms.

According to the Law Enforcement Alliance of America:

(In the course of) US Senate testimony on Wednesday, November 18, Attorney General Eric Holder “revealed a stunningly broad and aggressive anti-gun agenda.

After explaining and defending his decision to give enemy combatants constitutional protections and the right to public trial in civilian courts in New York City, Attorney General Holder revealed his support for a national gun owner registration scheme and authorizing the government to ban firearm possession for any person by merely adding that person’s name to the terror watch list,

IOW, under his scheme, the Justice Department will be able to deny selected individuals the right to own firearms, based on whom they decide is a “terror threat.” We already know that this administration defines pro-lifers, anti-tax activists, supporters of immigration enforcement, and critics of Obama generally as potential terrorists.

The Desperate Democrats Fight Dirty on Health Care Bill | Right Wing News

Maybe to round out the day, they will beat up his kids or something.

You know the healthcare fight is getting desperate on the left when they start going after the wife of the independent they see standing in their way. Oh boy.

Washington (CNN) – Sen. Joe Lieberman – whose opposition to a public insurance option has drawn outrage from liberal groups for months – is used to finding himself in progressive crosshairs.

Now it’s his wife’s turn.

Activists are setting their sights on Hadassah Lieberman, launching a celebrity-studded petition drive to convince the nation’s largest breast cancer non-profit to end the Connecticut senator’s wife role as a spokeswoman.

The move to pressure the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation came the same day Lieberman’s husband angered Democrats by announcing that he would not support an expansion of Medicare to cover individuals under the age of 55. Organizers did not point to that decision, instead citing Hadassah Lieberman’s own ties to the health care industry.

Wow.  This is hardball. Lieberman refuses to vote for the healthcare bill in it’s present form, and they go after his wife.

More cover-ups and lies from the most transparent and ethical administration ever…

When Congress began investigating the termination of Inspector General Gerald Walpin, they demanded information from Alan Solomont, who chaired the Corporation for National and Community Service that Walpin oversaw, to determine what kind of influence the White House exerted in that process.  Walpin’s termination came after he objected to a settlement of fraud charges relating to an Obama ally, Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, and critics suspected political motivations behind the firing.  Solomont insisted that he had only discussed the situation with White House counsel Greg Craig, Norman Eisen (who did the firing), and three officials from the Office of Social Innovation.  But as Byron York reports today, newly released documents have forced Solomont to contradict himself on whether he consulted with the First Lady’s staff on Walpi

Obama Administration is Stalling on Giving Congress Intelligence About Fort Hood Shooter, Says Hoekstra. No, really? What a shock.

Once again, Obama covers for Islamic terrorists.  I wonder if Holder will order this one to be tried in criminal courts.

(CNSNews.com) – Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.), ranking member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, says the Obama administration is stalling in providing information to the leaders of the House and Senate and the congressional intelligence committees on the multiple murders allegedly committed by a radical Muslim Army officer at Fort Hood more than a month ago.

So far, the committee chairman and congressional leaders have received no detailed, substantive briefing on the event and what is known about its perpetrator.

“You know, they’re playing out the string,” Hoekstra said Thursday. “We’re going home next week, (and) they will have effectively made it through three months with giving no substantive briefings on Fort Hood.”

House committee chair decides to retire instead of enduring the brutal beating the voters were going to give him.

And the rats leave the ship.

When a slew of Republicans in the House announced their retirements in 2006, people took it as a leading indicator of a coming realignment for George Bush’s second midterms.  Already we have seen three Democrats announce retirements in 2009, well ahead of the 2010 midterms, including Brian Baird (D-WA), who is only 53 years old.  Now Bart Gordon (D-TN), who will be only 61 years old next month, has also decided to retire despite chairing a major House committee.
