Attorney For 9/11 Terrorist…Of Course We’ll Be Using The Trial Obama Has Gifted Us With As A Propaganda Show

November 23, 2009 Leave a comment

As we all expected.

Never let a crisis trial go to waste.

The five men facing trial in the Sept. 11 attacks will plead not guilty so that they can air their criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, the lawyer for one of the defendants said Sunday.

Scott Fenstermaker, the lawyer for accused terrorist Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, said the men would not deny their role in the 2001 attacks but "would explain what happened and why they did it."

…Mohammed, Ali and the others will explain "their assessment of American foreign policy," Fenstermaker said.

"Their assessment is negative," he said.

Negative you say? Well I’m sure Team Obama is looking forward to reaching out to this gentlemen to hear their views and see how they can be incorporated into his more modest and humble foreign policy.

At the very least they can verify whether or not Obama was right and that they do indeed suffer from a "fundamental absence of empathy". Perhaps then President Wonderful can launch a worldwide "Empathy Enhancement Program".

How do the Dems get away with this shit?

Rasmussen: ObamaCare support plunges to new low, under 40% and drops even lower after Senate vote!

November 23, 2009 Leave a comment

The Obama Way Not like the Democrats give a damn.  To them, they have to pass it so they can control the economy, and more importantly, control millions of votes.

The more people see of ObamaCare and the way Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have to force it through Congress, the less they like it.  Rasmussen’s latest survey on the legislation shows support for the bill reaching its nadir, 38%, with an 18-point deficit from public opposition,  which is 56%.  It’s the first time in Rasmussen’s surveys of likely voters that support for Barack Obama’s signature agenda item has dropped below 40%:

Just 38% of voters now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s the lowest level of support measured for the plan in nearly two dozen tracking polls conducted since June.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% now oppose the plan.

Half the survey was conducted before the Senate voted late Saturday to begin debate on its version of the legislation. Support for the plan was slightly lower in the half of the survey conducted after the Senate vote.

burka I ask anyone who wants to really know about Islam’s treatment of women to follow the link.  View the pictures.  See what this “religion of peace” justifies.  I must warn you though, do not do so unless you are ready for it.  The pictures are not pleasant to see and not pleasant to consider.

Keep in mind that most of the men involved in this are free and clear.  Women are afforded few rights in Islam and less when its against a man.

Qur’an (2:282)"And call to witness, from among your men, two witnesses. And if two men be not found then a man and two women."

Bukhari (6:301)"[Muhammad] said, ‘Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?’  They replied in the affirmative.  He said, ‘This is the deficiency in her intelligence.’"

Muslim (4:1039)"A’isha said [to Muhammad]: ‘You have made us equal to the dogs and the asses’"

Ishaq 593 – "As for Ali, he said, ‘Women are plentiful, and you can easily change one for another.’"

Bukhari (72:715) – A woman seeks Muhammad’s help in leaving an abusive marriage, but is ordered by the prophet to return to her husband and submit to his commands.

And for some insane reason, liberals and feminists support and apologize for these people.

We typically think of terrorism as a political act.

But sometimes it’s very personal. It wasn’t a government or a guerrilla insurgency that threw acid on this woman’s face in Pakistan. It was a young man whom she had rejected for marriage. As the United States ponders what to do in Afghanistan — and for that matter, in Pakistan — it is wise to understand both the political and the personal, that the very ignorance and illiteracy and misogyny that create the climate for these acid attacks can and does bleed over into the political realm. Nicholas Kristof, the New York Times op-ed columnist who traveled to Pakistan last year to write about acid attacks, put it this way in an essay at the time: “I’ve been investigating such acid attacks, which are commonly used to terrorize and subjugate women and girls in a swath of Asia from Afghanistan through Cambodia (men are almost never attacked with acid). Because women usually don’t matter in this part of the world, their attackers are rarely prosecuted and acid sales are usually not controlled. It’s a kind of terrorism that becomes accepted as part of the background noise in the region. …

Michelle Malkin » Wheeling & dealing: Snowe pow-wows with Obama; Landrieu, Schumer, Daschle behind the scenes

November 22, 2009 Leave a comment

I can’t wait until we get rid of these damn DIABLOs.

Don’t mean to give you more indigestion on a Saturday night, but thought you should see this from The Hill:

Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine)…is still in talks with President Barack Obama regarding her final vote on the legislation. Snowe said that she spoke to Obama while he was aboard Air Force One en route to Asia earlier this week…”He restated his intention of working with me on this issue,” Snowe told a group of reporters. She said that there “there are still fundamental issues that still need to be confronted” before she would considering voting for the bill during later votes…Snowe did not define how many Republican senators would be needed to call the bill bipartisan, but said “I hope it is more than just me.” She also called on the president to attract more Republicans to vote for the bill. “This is a place where the president could play a pivotal role,” she said.

Report: Kennedy Barred From Communion for Stance on Abortion – FOXNews.com

November 22, 2009 2 comments

About damn time.

The liberals who like to allow some republican pretend they are Catholic are going to start screaming that this is the Church getting involved in politics.  The truth is that GIVING them communion is getting involved in politics.

Catholics believe in the sanctity of an unborn child and abortion is paramount to murder.  Communion cannot be offered to those who support abortion, unless, it seems, you are a politician.  Especially if you are a Kennedy.  These liberals have been pretending to be Catholic for a long, long time.

Finally, the Church is starting to stand up for what they believe.  Its good to see.

Of course, it took the ultra-liberal actions of the Obama administration and its ilk to cause this.  I think the conservative and religious push back that Obama is setting up is going to be absolutely amazing.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Roman Catholic Bishop Thomas Tobin has banned Rep. Patrick Kennedy from receiving Communion, the central sacrament of the church, in Rhode Island because of the congressman’s support for abortion rights, Kennedy said in a newspaper interview published Sunday.

The decision by the outspoken prelate, reported on The Providence Journal’s Web site, significantly escalates a bitter dispute between Tobin, an ultra orthodox bishop, and Kennedy, a son of the nation’s most famous Roman Catholic family.

"The bishop instructed me not to take Communion and said that he has instructed the diocesan priests not to give me Communion," Kennedy told the paper in an interview conducted Friday.

Kennedy said the bishop had explained the penalty by telling him "that I am not a good practicing Catholic because of the positions that I’ve taken as a public official," particularly on abortion.

The Ant and The Grasshopper: A modern fable

November 21, 2009 Leave a comment

3e7c897e91fcae4947e1cde0b99593553b6369f7 I got this in an email and had to share it.  (h/t to Jim Malmberg.  Not sure if he originated it, but I found it while looking for a picture)

OLD VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away..

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.

America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, ‘It’s Not Easy Being Green.’

ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant’s house where the news stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome " . Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper’s sake.

President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper’s plight.

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share..

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant’s food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant’s old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn’t maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and once peaceful, neighborhood..

The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it..

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010.

Possible Conspiracy To Falsify Temperature Data Uncovered

November 20, 2009 Leave a comment

These hackers should be arrested for breaking the law.  Sadly, they did an amazing service to the world by revealing this.  I hope the judge takes that into account.

E-mail messages between high-ranking scientists appear to indicate a conspiracy by some of the world’s leading global warming alarmists to falsify temperature data in order to exaggerate global averages.

Those involved allegedly include: James Hansen, Director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies; Michael Mann, famous for Mann’s "Hockey Stick"; Gavin Schmidt, NASA climate modeler, and; Stephen Schneider, Stanford professor and Al Gore confidant.

A statement released Friday by the alarmist website RealClimate has confirmed that e-mail servers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (CRU) in Norwich, England, were hacked recently with contents illegally made available over the Internet.

Democrats Begin Afghan Surrender– Pelosi Calls Karzai “Unworthy”

November 20, 2009 Leave a comment

Disgusting.

Having failed in their efforts to lose the War in Iraq democrats are not focusing on Afghanistan.

Speaker Pelosi lashed out at the brave Afghan leader, who has survived several assassination attempts, as an “unworthy partner” today. Karzai was inaugurated yesterday.

ReidCare includes a severe tax penalty for being married.

November 20, 2009 Leave a comment

Once again, liberals show their distain and hatred of traditional values, such as marriage.  We won’t outlaw marriage, yet, but we will make you pay for it…

Generally we use the "Matrimonial Madness" category for discussions of same-sex marriage; but not this time. Today, in a bolt from the blue (staters), the Senate Democrats have snuck a ringer into Majority Leader Harry "Pinky" Reid’s (D-NV, 70%) version of ObamaCare… they created a new tax with a nasty "marriage penalty" to punish dopes who actually tie the knot, instead of simply living together (evidently the Democrat preferred option):

Senate Democrats’ health care bill would create a new marriage penalty by imposing a tax on individuals who make $200,000 annually but hitting married couples making just $50,000 more….

"Yes, this structure can create a ‘marriage penalty’ for some couples. It also creates a ‘marriage bonus’ for others," [Jim Manley, a Reid spokesman] said. "A married couple with one wage earner can earn up to $250,000 without facing this higher tax, whereas a single person in the same job with the same pay would be hit by it."

But a married couple in which each earner makes $150,000 would be hit with the tax, whereas an unmarried couple living together with the same incomes would not.

Ryan Ellis, tax policy director at Americans for Tax Reform, said the new marriage penalty comes on top of an existing one that’s always been part of the payroll tax, which funds Social Security and Medicare.
