So who really won last night? That’s an easy one.
If you are stupid enough to believe Pelosi who says that the Dems came out ahead last night, read this.
Dems are running for cover while Republicans cheer. So, what were you saying, Nancy?
Vulnerable House and Senate Democrats want their leaders to skip the party’s controversial legislative agenda for next year to help save their seats in Congress.
In the run-up to the 2010 midterm elections, they don’t want to be forced to vote on climate change, immigration reform and gays in the military, which they say should be set aside so Congress can focus on jobs and the economy.
Fox News Misreported Robert Gibbs Press Gaggle Comments | NewsBusters.org
I had a hard time believing that even Obama was so vain as to be sitting down to watch an HBO Obama love fest instead of the results. I am surprised he wasn’t watching the results, but the HBO thing just seemed a bit off.
So, Fox News was definitely wrong on this one and needs to apologize for it. They probably will. I wish I could say the same for the other stations.
At 10:15AM ET during America’s Newsroom on Fox News Channel, co-host Martha MacCallum reported that in a gaggle with reporters Wednesday morning White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs claimed that President Obama did not watch election results Tuesday night but rather watched an HBO special about his 2008 campaign.
A tipster contacted NewsBusters questioning that report and after having acquired a transcript of the press gaggle, we have confirmed that the Fox News report was incorrect and Gibbs did not make any such statement.
Gibbs made this statement at the beginning of the untaped discussion with White House reporters:
One thing I should contextualize – the President obviously got updates about the election last night. He did not watch – as I told some of you – did not watch election returns. I wouldn’t read a ton into that since he didn’t actually watch election returns when he was running. If you did watch the movie on HBO – we called him and told him he won Iowa. He did not watch election returns.
Clearly Gibbs was simply referencing the HBO documentary as evidence that the President does not routinely watch election returns.

Nancy Pelosi is firmly living in a fantasy world
Ok, first thing. Yes, the conservative Hoffman, lost in NY-23, but came damn close. Let’s put that in perspective. An unknown person, running in a third party almost took a heavily Democratic area in a heavily Democratic state. He almost took it, even with the deceptive “Republican” using a million dollars of GOP money (idiots) to get the vote out for the Democrat.
I think that would have been very different if the GOP had actually supported the conservative, instead of the liberal DIABLO.
Keeping that in mind and the fact that the Dems lost the governorship of two states that voted for Obama, one of which he personally campaigned for (on taxpayers money…), Pelosi would be eating a bit of humble pie, wouldn’t you think?
I mean, her party was bitch-slapped last night, right? Nope. Not in Pelosi-land…
They lost the Virginia gubanatorial race by 18 points in a state Barack Obama won by 6 points last year.
They lost the New Jersey gubanatorial race by 4 points in a state Barack Obama won by 15 points last year.![]()
But, facts don’t matter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi
She rejoiced today saying, “We won last night.”“From our perspective, we won last night,” the California Democrat told reporters during a Wednesday photo op. “We had one race that we were engaged in, it was in northern New York, it was a race where a Republican has held the seat since the Civil War. And we won that seat. So, from our standpoint, no, a candidate was victorious who supports health care reform, and his remarks last night said this was a victory for health care reform and other initiatives for the American people.”
She’s still ready to ram that nationalized health care bill through the House this week.
UPDATE: 2 lies in 1 statement.
As pointed out below. Democrat Bill Owens campaigned against the public option.
Pelosi was lying.
Another important, but under reported Republican win last night
Replacing a Dem judge is important. Putting in someone who actually rules by following the law is a big thing.
Not really. However, the Republicans did win a statewide race in Pennsylvania yesterday. Joan Orie Melvin, a Republican, defeated Jack Panella, a Democrat, to win a 10-year term on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Tuesday. The final count was 53-47 percent.
The Democrat raised nearly $2.35 million — including a half-million each from the unions and trial lawyers — and outspent the Republican by a ratio of 3-1, but to no avail. Judge Melvin is said to be a more restrained jurist than her Democratic opponent, who is also a sitting judge. At any rate, the money spent by the unions and the trial lawyers suggests that there was more than "a dime’s worth" of difference between the way the two candidates go about judging.
Hot Air » Blog Archive » Gay marriage rejected in Maine
31 for 31. Everytime Americans are given a chance to vote on it, gay marriage is rejected. It’s only in states that don’t care what the people want that allow it.
In a mild surprise, a measure that would have legalized gay marriage in Maine has lost by about five and a half points. The measure had the backing of most of Maine’s political class, a clear fundraising lead, and a network of national activists hoping to provide a counterpoint to California’s Proposition 8 defeat. Instead, voters in Maine essentially ratified California’s result:
The stars seemed aligned for supporters of gay marriage. They had Maine’s governor, legislative leaders and major newspapers on their side, plus a huge edge in campaign funding. So losing a landmark referendum was a devastating blow, for activists in Maine and nationwide.
In an election that had been billed for weeks as too close to call, Maine’s often unpredictable voters repealed a state law Tuesday that would have allowed same-sex couples to wed. Gay marriage has now lost in all 31 states in which it has been put to a popular vote — a trend that the gay-rights movement had believed it could end in Maine.
Iranian protesters ask: “Obama, Obama, Are you with the regime or with us?” They should know the answer to that by now.
This is so sad. We should be helping this. Instead Obama defunded the groups that could.
The brave Iranian democrats are marching again today against the brutal killer regime on the 30 Year Anniversary of the siege on the US Embassy in Tehran.
The Iranians are protesting in Tehran, Tabriz,The protesters called out to the Americans:
“Obama, Obama, Are you with the regime or with us?”Sadly, we all know the answer to that question.
The Obama Administration stands firmly with the regime.
Elementary Epidemic: 11 Uncovered Videos Show School Children Performing Praises to Obama | NewsBusters.org
More indoctrination. This is vulgar.
Big Hollywood has already posted a couple disturbing videos of young school children singing/speaking praises to President Obama, but when eleven more dropped in our email box it came as quite a shock. What seemed like an aberration now appears to be a troubling pattern.
Maybe “epidemic” is a better word.
Each one of the videos below is creepier than the last because the further down you go, the younger the children — brace yourself for kindergartners – except for the last and most disturbing video, which you have to see to believe.
Owens up by 3% with 64% reporting. WTF?
I thought this one was in the bag and that NJ was going to go on forever.
Now Corzine concedes and Hoffman is behind, even with the exit polls showing him winning?
What is going on here?
