Remember when Afghanistan was the essential front in the War on Man Made Disasters? Back then it was bad to take your eye off the fight there and not provide enough troops.

U.S. and NATO Afghanistan commander Gen. Stanley McChrystal’s long-awaited report containing a request for additional troops on Saturday was submitted to the Pentagon, but the Defense Department will hold it until the Obama administration reconfigures its Afghan strategy.
Spokesman Lt. Col. Tadd Sholtis told media outlets today that McChrystal hand delivered the report to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Adm. James Stavridis.
In the report, which was leaked to the Washington Post on Monday, McChrystal warned of "mission failure" if the size of the allied force in Afghanistan remains the same.
The White House, however, has asserted that it will review the nation’s entire Afghan strategy before considering McChrystal’s request.But top Republican lawmakers have been pressuring the administration to act quickly.
I’ve already gone through why this idea of reviewing the strategy is misleading at best.
This is so typical of liberal Democrats. They aren’t against robust defense or war they cry, they are just always against the war we happen to actually be fighting. But some theoretical future war? Oh absolutely, under the right conditions they are so there.

So, let me get this straight. The only way to prove that “global warming” is real or farce is by using numbers that these guys have modified in ways we don’t know. The real data, which has been proven to be highly inaccurate due to sensor misplacement, has been “lost”.
We are supposed to accept the words of these people who have changed these numbers again and again and refused to hand over the data for peer review because “they wanted to prove them wrong”. I seem to remember something about the scientific process from high school about the requirement to prove data right by trying to prove it wrong.
These are not scientists. They are political hacks who want power by fear-mongering. And now, science is proving them wrong, so they hide the proof.
As climate extremists, Democrats, and President Barack Obama (but I repeat myself) push for nonsensical cap-and-trade legislation and prosperity-killing, sovereignty-threatening treaties, at least some of the data undergirding the supposed science backing their efforts seems to no longer exist. I’m not kidding.
At National Review Online Wednesday morning, Patrick J. Michaels told us that:
…. the data needed to verify the gloom-and-doom warming forecasts have disappeared.
Or so it seems. Apparently, they were either lost or purged from some discarded computer. Only a very few people know what really happened, and they aren’t talking much. And what little they are saying makes no sense.

This one is real easy. Orin Hatch puts forward an amendment to bill in the Senate Finance Committee that simply says “if Health and Human Services determines that the bill will cause more than 1 million Americans to lose their current coverage, kill the bill” Seems simple, especially since Obama said that no one would lose their current coverage, right?
The Dems voted against it unanimously.
One of President Obama’s mantras with regard to the Democrats’ health care proposal (whatever it turns out to be) is that if you like your present health insurance coverage, you will get to keep it. More recently, when the fraudulent nature of that pledge was revealed, he changed the formula to "the bill won’t require you to lose your coverage." That’s right; it won’t require you to lose your coverage, it will just cause you to lose your coverage.
On Thursday, as the Senate Finance Committee was marking up the Baucus version of the bill, Senator Orrin Hatch tested the Democrats’ sincerity on this issue by offering a simple amendment:
The purpose of this amendment is simple. If the secretary of Health and Human Services certifies that more than 1 million Americans would lose the current coverage of their choice because of this bill, then this bill would not go into effect.
It seems like a very, very simple but perfect amendment for those of us who have integrity. This amendment is simply trying to safeguard President Obama’s pledge to the American people, you’ll get — that you will get to keep what you have.

We began to write the song after watching the Inauguration. Our school day is packed bell to bell with academics, but were usually able to spend the last five minutes of singing songs as short ELD (English Language Development) activities. Day by day we used this tiny window of time to brainstorm lyrics. As the song took shape, the children became more and more proud of their accomplishment. It soon morphed into a tribute to MLK and others honored for their work towards social justice.
By February the song was done. We got requests to come and perform from adjacent classrooms that heard it coming from our room at the end of the day. Their egos boomed. I decided to make it something they’d never forget by producing the video. Nobody forced the children to participate–in fact a few sat it out. When it was finished, they were hoping the President himself would see it and wanted to be able to show it to friends and relatives. We got the consent of parents as well as the administration and put it online.

A group called Americans for Limited Government on Thursday accused a producer for NBC’s "Dateline" of sending them an anti-Semitic e-mail message in response to the organization’s request for Congress to defund the controversial group ACORN.
The mass e-mail in question, sent by ALG’s Alex Rosenwald to many members of the media including NBC’s Jane Stone, said:
“The only way Congress can unravel all of the various funding measures in the ‘stimulus,’ in the ‘Foreclosure Prevention Act,’ and other measures is to pass the ‘Defund ACORN Act’ immediately. They should do it now. Before ACORN spends it all.” — ALG President Bill Wilson
According to ALG, Stone responded:

Politico’s Michael Calderone reported on this matter Friday:
NBC News president Steve Capus fired back at Americans for Limited Government Friday, after the conservative group published an email allegedly from NBC producer Jane Stone to its director of media outreach Alex Rosenwald, with one line: “Bite me Jew Boy.”
“I’m still in shock, and outraged that this reckless organization would go out with such a defamatory, irresponsible statement,” Capus told POLITICO. “We have done a complete email analysis, all of our IT, all of our records.”
Here’s what both sides agree on: Stone responded yesterday to a mass email from ALG.
But Stone’s response email—provided to POLITICO—did not have any anti-Semitic comment. In fact, it had just one line: “Take me off this list!” (There are also subtle differences, including number of dashes, between the two emails).
“Somebody, on the other end, I’m assuming, took the return stamp from the email and then put in this hateful message,” Capus said. “I don’t know who did it. It’s outrageous to suspect that somebody from NBC News would do it.”
For its part, ALG responded:
We at Americans for Limited Government are saddened that instead of helping us to get to the bottom of the hateful email that was indeed sent from NBC’s server, and this can be verified, and was not tampered with, which can also be verified, that NBC President Steve Capus has instead chosen to circle the wagons and protect what is indefensible with hysterical, frantic accusations.
This email has left a digital footprint that is undeniable. We did our due diligence. We have confirmed that it indeed came from NBC’s server and Jane Stone’s email address.
As before, we renew our offer that we made to both Ms. Stone and NBC President Capus over the phone today to get to the bottom of who sent this email from Ms. Stone’s Blackberry email address. That offer remains open, and we would like it very much if both Ms. Stone and NBC would issue an apology to both Americans for Limited Government, and Mr. Alex Rosenwald, who was the target of this hateful email.
