Gateway Pundit: Hypocrisy Alert: Dem Rep. Pete Stark Called Bush Liar On House Floor… Twice (Video)

Surely you jest!  Dems are hypocrites?

The House democrats will vote today to discipline Rep. Joe Wilson for calling President Obama a liar on the House floor during his speech to the nation that was riddled with misleading statements, misrepresentations and, welllies.
But, of course, democrats didn’t bat an eye when Rep. Pete Stark called President Bush a liar on the House floor… Twice… In the same speech.

The Republicans are worried that we can’t pay for insuring an additional 10 million children. They sure don’t care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal war in Iraq. Where you going to get that money. You gonna tell us lies like you’re telling us today? Is that how you’re going to fund the war. You don’t have enough money to fund the war or children. But you’re going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President’s amusement…
…But the President Bush’s statements about children’s health shouldn’t be taken any more seriously than his lies about the war in Iraq. The truth is that Bush just likes to blow things up in Iraq, in the United States, and in Congress.

He should have been more diplomatic, but he had the floor and the President wasn’t even there. Totally different than interrupting the President from the audience while he’s speaking. Also, the war in Iraq was based on false information so Stark wasn’t wrong. Joe Wilson, on the other hand, was incorrect when spouted off. Even beyond that, Bush’s lies cost thousands of American lives and the lives of in an unnecessary war along with many thousands more Iraqi civilian deaths and a severe erosion of American morality. If Wilson has his way, more American lives will be lost to maintain a malfunctioning insurance system.

Bush didn’t lie. If anything, the intelligence at the time was incorrect, but he had no way of knowing that. Dems and Republicans had access to the same exact intel he did and came to the same conclusions. Liberals tend to forget that.

Additionally, even the White House admits that Joe was right and that illegals would have been covered.

Finally, you are right that the president was not present when Pete spouted off, but that is why Joe apologized to the President and that apology was accepted. The Dems used House rules that were enforced for Joe, but ignored for Pete. The rules do not say “You can’t call the President a liar to his face”, they say “you can’t call the President a liar”.

Your justification for ignoring the rules require us to put a magnitude on the offense, but you still require us to ignore the rule for a select group, the Dems.
